Rear suspension heavy surface corrosion MOT help

Good afternoon friends.

My car knowledge isn't amazing and a friend of mine pointed me in the direction of you guys.
I am looking to buy a 56 plate Civic 1.8i-VTEC SE 5dr

The only advisory on the past 2 MOTs was

"Rear floor chassis areas around rear suspension heavy surface corrosion"

I was wondering if you guys could let me know if this was a serious problem that could cause future problems.
Or if it's a regular thing on older cars that can be sorted.
