EP3 Type R value
Discussion
I have just bought my first Type R and I was wondering, are they likely to start going up in value?
Now I am not looking to sell it at all and I never buy cars based on depreciation/appreciation but I saw something the other week someone saying they're only going up in value and it just made me curious.

If you don't drive it and wait for everyone to write off or run the mass of existing ones into the ground then I reckon it will be worth a premium in 10 years+
But where's the fun in that! :P
Haha very true, I am never one to buy cars and then let them sit there anyway! Was just curiosity really. But where's the fun in that! :P
Need the price of the Integras to come down so I can get one on the cheap but I think they're only going in one direction now.

Yeh I think you missed that boat mate.Need the price of the Integras to come down so I can get one on the cheap but I think they're only going in one direction now.
And this is the thing, the more desirable they become the more the price goes up. Need to be thinking about the cars that no one wants now, but in 15 years time they will.
Either that, or like others have said, pay the premium for the import for a much higher chance of retaining of gaining value.
I was chatting to an importer earlier today, apparently finding quality DC5s in Japan is now starting to get harder.
I think a Honda Beat would be a pretty decent investment for £4-6k.
DC2s turn 25 in a couple of years, so if you want to speculate, thats a good one to grab now. Once they become eligible for US import I can see them going up again considerably.

Well worth it mate, i'm not going to part with my DC5 for some considerable time (until its worth enough to fund a flat deposit ahah, so a good few years yet). Brilliant cars.
That's it mate, when I can finally get one it will be a car I keep for life or like you say it gets to a point where you'd be crazy not to sell up!designforlife said:
sorry, slip of the keyboard there, meant the FD2!!
You say that, but how come the list of FD2s for sale on ebay only every grows? There's some that have been there for months on end and are still for sale. They don't appear to be dogs and the price differentials are pretty wide. I just don't think there's many people wanting to pay near FK2 money for them.Kev_Mk3 said:
EP3's have gone up in value but not by much. I bought mine for 2.5k drove around in it and sold it for the same a year later back in 2016. 6 months ago I went to get another ep3 and couldn't get the same for less than 3k. Some bargains to be had but sub 2.5k most are dogs now.
Agree had a look at these again last night and your almost at 4k now for a decent one, the Premier's are climbing up to 5k already some with heavy millage. Our first Ep3 was a 2003 model . We paid 10 thousand for it with 44k on the clock. Drove it for 9 years , put 100k on it and sold it for 2250.
My current Ep3 is a Cosmic Premier model 55 plate. I paid 3500 for it with Full History about 18 Months ago. I didn't realise until fairly recently that it's the Premier models everyone seem's to be looking for.
Ive spent 9k on mine's and i know i wouldn't get no where near that back. I am not too concerned as i love the thing. Especially since it goes and stops far better than ever , and also goes around corners so much better than previously .
