Is it worth to Tune the FN2 or should i just save the money and go for the FK2 ?
100Hp+ better Brakes and LSD... sounds greatly improved..

FK8 would be great but too expensive at the moment.

Have you managed to have a test drive in an FK2 yet? If not that would definetly be worth trying to arrange one, because that will give you a good comparison to your current FN2,

I moved from a DC5 to an FK2, obviously you lose the high revving and lighter footed feel of the DC5 but as an all round car which includes every day driving too, the FK2 is far better. Loads of low down torque makes cruising and over taking easy and when you're on the back roads it truly is ballistic.

Ride was far better than the DC5 not just for me put passengers in the back as well.

It's fun when you want to go fast and when you just want to get somewhere it does that very well too. Also has far more toys than the DC5 had and probably the FN2 as well i would think.

Prices seemed to have stabilized on FK2's now.

I'm happy to answer any other questions you have.

I heard many FK2s have performance issues.. because of the intercooler , is that common?
Had you any issues with the electronic suspension ? What else to watch ? smile

I've not seen any issues related to the intercooler on the FK2. I've also not seen anything about issues with the electronic suspension either.

Just out of interest where have you seen that?

I've had zero issues since i've owned my FK2, i've seen the occasional gearbox issue on the forum's but anything related to that would be covered under warranty.

People usually swap out the continentals to Michelin Pilot Sport 4S as they have a better wear rate but seem to be just as grippy.

The only other thing i've seen it the fabric wearing on the drivers seat due to getting in and out, my car is fine but some have had an issue and managed to get it sorted under warranty.

I have seen in Sportauto test and some other german youtube channel where they have Dynoed those cars..

They were saying that the cars are lacking -10% on horsepower.

Yup, these 3 things are the big 3 to keep an eye out for.

Gearbox, check to see 1st goes into gear when engine hot and cold. It's a notchy box but you'll know if its not right. 1st just will not go in if the synco's are shot.

You cant scrimp on cheap rubber, anything less than the CSC6 or MPS4s mentioned above will struggle and suck the joy out of the FK2. If the previous owners put on cheap rubber. Bin them.

Seat wear on the drivers side bolster can be excessive. The fabric Honda use is excellent at holding your body in place when cornering hard but can wear quickly. Check the stitching and seams to see there holding strong. And that the bolsters not collapsing. It'll be obvious if the seats are worn when you look for it.

Lastly, the alloys are soft as soft cheese and really easy to kerb. Check them carefully for damage. An alloy refurb can be expensive as they are two colours. Very labour intensive to re-paint black, then mask up and paint the red stripe.

Buy GT spec. Nobody wants the non-GT model. The non-GT doesn't have any toys. Or the red stripe on the front or back bumper.

Also if you can find a car with 555 service package you'll be onto a winner.
Thats 5 years servicing, 5 years breakdown. and 5 years warranty.
If the previous owner purchased 555 it stays with the car when they sell it.
Its called 555 cos it cost £555.
Considering one service can be £300 finding a car with 555 can save you many many money's.

Absolutely spot on with the above comment's from ibmarkprior i would say. A seat cover would minimize fabric wear on the seat if you used the car every day, you can get these from Dream Automotive, they also do refurbished wheels too.

The £555 plan is doesn't include warranty unfortunately but shouldn't be many issues with these being a Honda. I would try the FK2, I love mine and been hassle free so far like my ep3 which I had for 7 years.
Problems mentioned so far pretty much cover everything, seat wear, alloys which can be touched up with a black halfords pen and the odd gearbox problem but I think it was approx 5% of owners on a poll.
I wouldn't waste your money tuning your current car, the grip and handling has really moved on over the last few years.
