6th Gen Civic Saloon winter hack

Not really much to worry about. Pretty bulletproof. I think it's an MA chassis so shares components with the EG models and trim etc with the Rover 45.
Good little car, my sister had a 1.5LS for a few years, burnt a bit of oil but generally ok.
Normal things of rust on the rear arch, burning oil etc but you shouldn't have too many issues.
You could swap in an interior from an MB6 VTI-S model for some more comfort and the B18C4 engine + LSD box from one bolts straight in too!!

cheers, BF. Aside from a driver's side door mirror that's been whacked so it won't stay in place (there's drilling in its future, I feel) and the aforementioned heater fan issue (which is likely to be a resistor, by all accounts/youtube videos) it's actually a decent, solid motor. There's some welding in it's fairly recent past so the rust shouldn't be an issue while in my ownership. It's watertight, there's no mayonnaise under the oil cap and it runs pretty well.
I reckon I've lightened it by about 5 kilos just with the vacuum cleaner and a scraper - clearly been parked under trees for a lot of the last few years - thick mulch all over the hatch opening - and some hidden delights under the rear seats!
There's no excitement anywhere around it but it'll do the job it was bought for and I'll probably get the money back in the spring.

The only thing I can mention is that the wheels are 4 x 100 and those 14 inch wheels are from the Civic EJ8 coupe, which is the 1.6 SR VTEC.
So, you could swap them out for some nicer wheels as 14's are an odd size for tyre choices.
Also, the heater thing was an issue when I had a VTi in one of these.
Good luck with it!

Finally got around to finding a heater fan on eBay and fitted it this morning. What a transformation! I swear it feels like it drives better, too! I managed to fit thye fan and the new resistor and refit the glove box using all the original fixings and had nothing left over! All with a stumpy philips driver and an 8mm socket. Great. I've got about an hour of vacuuming to do to get the last of the leylandii foliage out of it now, though. It''s a great load lugger with the seats down (the failing gas struts let the bot lid fall gently onto things sticking out, too) but they don't half shed, those bloody things!
