Honda Civic Type R GT (65 plate, reg Jan 2016)
Discussion
Hi all
I bought a Type R GT with 2,100 miles (approx) in June this year. 2.0l petrol, 65 plate, registered Jan 2016. Since then it's gone to the garage twice with gearbox issues. These issues have included: gear lever completely jamming between neutral & 5th, unable to select 5th, and changing in/out of 5th is very stiff. After 2 months the first visit resulted in replacing the 5th & 6th gear synchro hub assembly and bearings, and 6 weeks after its return it's back with the garage with 5th unavailable once more.
Has anyone had a similar experience or related problems?

Sorry to hear. Obviously some damage could have been caused when it was a demo car and you would hope the garage would understand that and not pin the blame just on you.
Shame you're not happy with it because I've had nothing but good things to say so far about mine. Hope it puts a smile on your face eventually.

Do you really think you are going to get any sort of response in here, posting silly hashtags and looking for someone to bite.
Not going to happen - I suggest you learn how to use the clutch, perhaps.
Ha, agreed. Not going to happen - I suggest you learn how to use the clutch, perhaps.
The first mistake was being naive enough to purchase an ex demo car, in particular a demo car like a 300 BHP Type R; which is made for being thrashed.
99% of the people who test drive a FK2 are obviously going to thrash the motor from cold, that's what I did, in order to see what the machine was capable of in the short amount of time i had to test drive it.
I was offered a great deal on an ex demo FK2 but my mechanical knowdlege and general sympathy for mechanical mechanisms told me not to, for the reasons above, so I opted for a new one instead.
Bad move on your part OP.
