I've just bought an EP3 with 101k on the clock, looking at the classifieds it seems there are many with over 120k.

How do these take the mileage? I plan to change the oil on a 6 month/3k miles basis...anything else?

Supposed to be very reliable if well looked after but I just put a 90k mile one in my elise and the oil pump shat itself, filled the oil with swarf and now it sounds like there's a wee man inside trying to get out irked

Mines on 126k and has just been supercharged.

Oil changes, check levels, get the valve clearances checked. Obviously let it warm up before beating the he st out of it.

Depends entirely on how it's been looked after for the previous 100,000 miles really.

If the oil level has been checked religiously, the valve clearances done on time and not thrashed from cold it should last you another 100,000 miles!

I clicked on the topic expecting someone with a EP3 that had at least 150k if not nearer 200k on, 100k is not HIGH is it?

Keeping oil & coolant levels correct and ensuring consumables like spark plus, air filters, fuel filters are kept in good order plus checking the timing chain & tappet adjustment is all these things need.

Mines got 125k on it and gets ragged rotten, but at the same time it gets a service every 6k which is once a year for my milage. Not long ago had it dyno'd at an 'honest' rolling road and it came back at 196hp. I am the sort of person who throws money at cars if there is a hint of a problem, so its had new top mounts and shocks at the front to help it feel fresher as I had a bit of play somewhere there. It was only a few months ago that the original backbox bit the dust (and then only due to rust snapping the exhaust hangers) which I was impressed with.

Feels like it can do 200k no problem engine wise, but feel like a suspension re-bush wont go amiss. Cosmetically its also a bit rough due to the thin Honda paint, although no body rust and the interior seems to be holding up OK.

I want an S2000 next, or a really really clean Integra DC5/DC2
