I've been kicking around the idea of buying a S2000 and a friend in the trade has just called me up with one - my first thoughts were it was expensive ...but i understand they have shot up in value

Thoughts please ??

2009 - manual, sub 40k miles, FSH (no idea on condition, tyres etc) - £15k

As long as it HPI's clear, has a genuine FSH and looks immaculate when you view then £15k isn't far off at all, possibly on the low side if it's a belter.
Regarding your last point, a couple of years ago these were coming in as low as £3k (for a rough one) but now similar examples are up to 5, so you might be right.
My Dad has owned his since new (2009) and fairly sure it's only just gone past 20k miles.

Just be careful with 09 S2000's as they've been known to lunch their engines. A bad batch I believe and it can happen at relatively low mileage.
