Civic 2.2 CDTI type S with higher miles
Discussion
So there's a civic for sale at a reputable garage who I've bought from before. I noticed it when I saw they had a Bora TDI for sale. The Bora only has 75k on the clock and has been very well looked after, new cambelt and tyres etc. a good deal....
The civic looks a lot more interesting though! It's only a couple of hundred quid more, but has 133k on the clock. What are these like? Am I likely to have issues at this mileage? I guess I'm wondering which would be the better choice...
I'm still not sold on either after seeing some nice merc and lexus offerings so anything good or bad about the honda you can tell me would be great
Cheers

I had a 2008 Civic 1.8 type S, it was badly built and unreliable, I only kept it for three months and lost a fair bit on it. The interior build quality was dire with loads of squeaks and rattles, the clutch was on the way out (a common fault), the fuel gauge only worked part time and the car was FSH with only 30k miles on the clock so I would be very wary of buying a high mileage one.
In comparison my (42k mile) Alfa Giulietta is a better car in almost every way including reliability and build quality.
