Honda Jazz Red Paint fade
Discussion
Yesterday I was cleaning my mum Honda Jazz and noticed that the paint is starting to fade very badly in certain areas. The car is a 2008 model purchased in Red, but is actually pink now on certain panels.
Is fading paint still an issue with Honda cars? I need to dig out the paperwork and see if there is a paint warranty on the car, but is there anything I can do to try and get the colour back??

If you have no remaining warranty, it is worth trying to polish the paint. The "pink" is usually a result of oxidisation so it should buff out. I had this problem on a previous VW Polo which responded very well to repeated cleaning and polishing (I didn't T-cut, I just applied a hard wax - Turtle Wax IIRC - and you could see red/pink on the cloths as you buffed it up and after a few goes I had a lovely red car) My reasoning was that it is less likely to seriously abrade the paint finish than T-cut (or similar) which will also undoubtedly work. Once you've got it red again make sure you apply a good polish and wax to help prevent the bleaching action of UV. I think most modern red cars are laquered to help resist the tendency to fade but ultimately all paint WILL fade.
