Civic service schedule
Discussion
Morning all,
I'm after some advice. I have a 08 Civic 1.8 IVTEC on 41,000 miles. I've owned it since 2012 and it came with 23,000 on the clock. Every year I've had it MOTd and had a full service but i'm after some advice as to whether i should do this less frequently and if so if there is any useful info anywhere that can tell me when i should get it serviced and what to look to replace when. It hasn't had a new clutch yet either so i'm wondering if this might be the next big cost even though it still feels pretty good!

I have the same although a 2006, Im on 86,000 miles on the original clutch. I wouldnt worry about yours for another 40k. Keep up the servicing as recomended in the handbook. There should be no major bills for a long time as its a Honda. It seems to be small niggles that other civic owners suffer from nothing big. I'm after some advice. Change the oil every year, pollen and air filters every 2, brake fluid every 3. Coolants at 10 years old, spark plugs at 75k and valve clearances at 62.5k.
If you had a full service last time round, next one just an oil change then a full next year. Alternate like that, should save you some money.

Hi all
i've posted on another thread on PH but I'm looking at a 2008 72k mile Civic 1.8 wgich hasn't been serviced for three years. It seemed to drive fine, sounded and felt smooth and the garage has said they'll service it (to what degree i don't know - prob oil, oil filter and air filter) and it's a pretty good price at £4500.
Should i be put off?
