Looking at 2008 CR-V 2.2 diesel - Any advice?
Discussion
Look out for wayward steering, or wobble in the steering wheel. Could just need an alignment/wheel balancing, but could also hide something more sinister as track rod ends or worse a possible driveshaft. A good service is a must with all modern diseasels nowadays.
I'd opt if I could for the 2009 with the i-dtec engine, but the icdti is extremely reliable in the CR-V also.

My '07 CR-V had the drive shaft issue, it basically gave a large lateral vibration under acceleration, mine got replaced by Honda UK even though it was out of warranty.Other than that it was OK, it averaged around 38 mpg.
Make sure the air-con works! Mine went faulty (57 reg) and the bill was £1600 for repair (Honda paid half as the car had only done 47k)
Also check the rear diff when reversing round a corner. Any vibration and a diff flush is required.
But note that the interior fittings (kickboards) are nowhere near as robust as earlier models - obviously cheaper plastic. My 99 124k model showed no signs of wear, yet my 47k 57 plate is well scratched.
I'd also check that the tyres on each axle show even wear. The CRV doesn't cope too well with tyres of mixed wear on the same axle (which is a pain if you get a puncture as I did and had to replace 2 tyres!).
