We've got a bit of a problem with our cr-v where the car was locked with the keyfob and the alarm turned on. Somebody in our household (not me), left the cr-v key near the cooker and it melted it so that the alarm fob doesn't work anymore. We have a spare key, but that has no alarm fob.

What happens now is that the alarm is going off constantly, but I can open the car and start the engine with the spare key (alarm is still going off at this point). Have disconnected the battery for now but everytime I reconnect it the alarm is still going off.

Is there anyway of resetting the alarm with the spare key and no fob? It's a 2005 cr-v diesel.

Cheers

In plain jane simple terms, no, you need a fob to switch the alarm off. But an auto tech place might be able to resolve it for you, either way, you'll be spending money!!
