There was a piece in Jalopnik yesterday about the possible return of the S2000 as a hybrid.

A hybrid powertrain wouldn't surprise me as it appears to be the template regarding future performance cars. It's also worth noting Honda will have closer ties with McLaren, who know a thing or two about performance hybrids.

It's too early to say and Honda haven't given the green light on the project either.

I'm sure the existing S2000 will be a future classic - a good drivers' car and its super high-revving NA unit will be missed.
