S2000 bonnet wont open

Bonnet wont open. No accidents, damage, or parking bumps -and it was fine a few weeks ago.

Pull the lever and we can feel the cable pulling all the way to the bonnet. Arm up through the grille & I can feel the cable all the way to where its obscured by a plastic cover. Cant feel a way around that, sadly

Pressing down alternately makes no difference- it just wont release.

Am I missing something -is there a way to get it open I cant see?

Very sorry, can't help you open it.

However I did have lots of troubles with my catch. When you get it open take the catch out (couple bolts) and give it some TLC and some new grease. Mine was a complete mess, covered in crap, spring jammed up, dry areas starting to corrode.

I degreased mine, replaced the spring and it was like new.

Had this on mine recently, think it was a bit of corrosion

Pull the bonnet catch, get someone to bang repeatedly down on the front of the bonnet until it comes undone. Grease the catch. Sorted!

Bonnet now open (Had to put it on ramp, undo centre undertray section and unbolt lock). Not easy

New lock on order from Honda- the original has died & locked solid.
