Looks leggy but also appears to have been looked after. Too good to be tyre for the price?

I thought so. Seems to have been looked after but will report back once I've checked it out.

Certainly a good read, he's definitely enthusiastic about the car that's for sure.

Not sure why he fixates on the timing chain so much, yes the tensioner needs replacing but not so sure about the chain itself.. Wonder if he was sold a yarn by a local 'specialist' who wanted some extra dosh?

Clutch being changed is good, providing an OEM unit was used and not a generic one. Also good that the roof has just been changed, that should last another 4-5years.

There is no mention of arch rot.. I'd assume as it's a 2001 there will be some. Worth a careful look, especially behind the arch liners on the rear as this is a weak spot on them all.

On 120k+ miles it's pretty safe to say some if not all the bushes will be shot and the shocks a bit worn, factor in between £1,000 and £1,500 to sort these.

You'll want to change diff oil and gearbox oil almost straight away unless service history says otherwise. Again, worth using Honda recommended for both.

Think that's about it.. For the price you could buy it, spend £2,000 sorting it and still have change compared to a mint condition car smile

Nice summary. How easy is it to get the arch liners off?

Not done it myself, but looks like the screws are visible, so pee easy.

There's one thing putting me off...

"it literally blows your mind"

Still props to him for still being able to type.

Car was a dog. Not as described. No glass rear window. Rust in rear arches. Heavy ticking noise on warm start. Gearshift wooly. Poor shut line on the rear bumper. Drove nice and straight but generally you clearly need to spend £5k to get a decent S2000

lol, still a good ad!

conversely, and ironically, i have bought a few cars which were woefully described but cheap, which i think has meant they're still been for sale when i've looked!

It makes you think that those which are well described should be dragging the punters in so if they've been hanging around in spite of a good ad, maybe the chances are they're a bit of a dog!
