I've just put a deposit down on an EP3, but its got some after markter cone filter attached, that I want rid of.

Wheres the best place on line to order an OEM airbox from?

Also the (I'm guessing here) oil/air pipe from the top of the engine that connects to the OEM box: shouldn't this be plugged into something and not venting straight into the open air?

What kind of air filter does it have? The "oil pipe" you mention is the crank case vent hose and should be attached to the intake tube. Pretty much every induction solution for the EP3 has a link to allow the crank case vent into the intake pipe, makes me wonder what is actually on your car. A picture would be interesting, if you've got any.

If you want an OEM box, just go on any of the EP3 owner forums, there are loads for sale. You could get a used box and a filter for £25 with a little looking, and if the filter is manky you could get a new filter and a used box for less than a new OEM box. The noise will frankly be a disappointment once you change back, they are very quiet cars as standard, which is almost a shame as they are probably the best sounding hot hatch ever imo. Still, at least you won't have to worry about "heatsoak", although that said, you wouldn't have to worry about that unless you live in the Sahara any way.

It looks like some kind of Carbon kit, and badly bodged.

I'll post a photo when I pick the car up. Its the only part of the car that isn't original, and given I don't plan on keeping the car for long, I want to keep it original as best I can. I've seen an OEM airbox on ebay for £50.
