Hey guys. Looking at upgrading my brakes and currently got stoptech fast road pads and standard discs and to be honest they are great. Now I'm not sure if I will need to upgrade them as I'm replacing the hoses with goodridge ones along with ate blue brake fluid? My thoughts were either try the above on a trackday in the next couple of months or upgrade the pads to either the ds2500's, ebc yellows or blue etc. it will be my first trackday in the civic but have done days before. Cheers for any advice smile oh and whatever I choose will be used mainly as a daily drive.

Hello,

I'm currently using redstuffs on my EP3 and though more than good enough for fast road I'd be inclined to use Yellowstuffs for the track.
If you willing to spend a bit more I highly recommend the Endless MX72. I have them fitted to the front of my track R32 GTST, on plane Brembo discs, and I find next to no fade. They have a good operating heat range, from 50 deg C to 700 deg C, so they're not useless for the road. Well worth the money.

Thanks for the reply. Where would I get those pads from? Never heard of them before.

Endless are a Japanese high performance brake company. I bought mine from RHDJapan.com. They import them so it can take a couple of weeks.
I'm sure there are other places about if you do some digging

You could also try www.nengun.com

I'd invest in some race fluid first- try Castrol SRF or similar. Fading/spongy brakes on track days is typically boiling fluid rather than dying pads.

Ended up buying some rc5+ pads. Had them before on the Clio and they were good. Will be investing in some pagid discs, goodridge lines and ate fluid. Will be getting them all fitted next week some time. Will report back and be booking Oulton park at some stage smile

Are Pagid considered as an upgrade?

Currently have some ”Brembo” disks (think they might be fakes of dubious quality) and Yellow stuff pads...

Not used the car for a few weeks, and the disk got excessively rusty, way more than the rears, and way more than I have ever seen before...

Now it appears I have bits of pad stuck to the disks, only noticeable during heavy braking, so I'll be switching back to the old OEM stuff at the weekend and seeing what the crack is...

Before the lay-up though, this combination was excellent, and has been for about 6 months...

Pagid are a direct replacement. I was going to get them again but have opted for some APEC discs which are supposed to be oem replacement, at least that's what our local motor factors say. Getting everything fitted on Friday. Well getting the discs and pads done tomo and lines/fluid/brake stopper fitted on Friday.
