After deciding for a while and couldn't decide I made the jump and got a 56/07 type r milano red.it met my initial requirements of 200 bhp (198 is close enough lol) and to be 55 plate plus so I could get my new number plate.very happy with it so far,the handling is a lot better then my 1.6 vtec exec model civic 04 shape.
Has anyone got one and what mods have you done as I'm looking to do some as now have a semi-decent car,I just bought the skunk2 gear knob last night as its heavier then the standard one so hopefully should help the gear changes feel nicer.thanks russ

Make sure it's on decent rubber, and take it in for a fast road setup...

Oh, and, pics dammit!

You do realise, the ONLY thing keeping you on the road, is the tyres? Pretty important part of a car...

Congrats mate - I've got almost exactly the same car by the sounds of it! In terms of tyres I've had a few different brands but have to say the O.E. Bridgestone's (re050a) are the best I've found in terms of grip/feel/wear.

Top tip number 1 - check the oil EVERY week!
Top tip number 2 - really, really take note of top tip number 1! wink

Enjoy it!

But surely a Civic Type R could be classed as a performance car? I wouldn't even put budgets on a 1.3 Ford Ka.

Being a Type-R owner hopefully change this mindset...

No they are not! The fall off in grip on a budget tyre is quite scary in the wet. I owned a basic focus 1.6 with budgets on it and it was frightening in the wet just how on edge the car felt! You should never ever skip on tyres, particularly on a performance car!

When you say JDM Rear ARB, I assume you're meaning the EP3...

He's bought an FN2, not an EP3...

I have the gt model ,top spec I think, only thing it doesn't have is sat nav,but that doesn't bother me as I don't normally use one,but keep mine in the car, about normal tyres yeah on a low power car I think there fine, they must meet requirements to be sold, although I don't think the 198 is high power I thought it would be best to fit some p zeros, great tyres,a lot of friends with high power cars recomend them.regarding the sound system, its base works, the upg one ? I'm not sure,It would be nice for a bit more bass, definitely know the difference as my old car had a decent sub,amp in the boot so a big difference.
