morning guys

I love the S2000, but admittedly I don't know a lot about it.

Can someone give me a brief explanation as to what changes on say a 2000 car to a 2008 car?

Do any of them come with cruise? Does the get get much better on the AP2 cars?

thanks
Dan

No AP2s (all had 2.2 engines) were sold in the UK, all in the US/Japan.

GTs were exactly the same as roadsters but had detachable hard top.

MY99-MY01 - plastic window
MY02-MY03 - glass window, some updates to interior, light clusters and suspension.
MY04-MY05 - new front bumpers, new light clusters, 17 inch wheels, further interior updates
MY06+ - other tweaks, option for CC/TC etc.

go to www.s2ki.co.uk - useful guide on all the changes/updates

^^ I thought AP2 was a designation of the (very worthwhile) chassis updates on 2004+ cars. The larger 2.2 engine was just an option within that in certain markets.

No, ap2 is the chassis code. All UK s2000s are ap1. People use it as shorthand for facelift in this country.

Eta. Honda chassis codes refer to the combination of a chassis plus basic engine.

As I've mentioned in another thread. Pre 06 cars are £280 a year to tax and post 06 cars are £475 per year. Worthwhile knowing if you're on a budget as that's quite a difference.

There were lots of suspension revisions over the years. Springs, dampers and anti roll bars were always changing.

Also the face lifts even had some of the suspension arms changed I believe.

06 onwards they went to drive by wire and had the option of VSA. 08 on it was standard fit.

If you are going to tune, drive by wire is cheaper on the ECU front as you can reflash it with a flashpro for £500. Earlier cars need more expensive options.
