I like that a lot cloud9

I wonder:
  • How close the production version will be to the concept. It is rumoured to be identical (it launches in September)
  • Whether Honda will put one of their new hybrid drivetrains in it, and stop selling the Insight
  • How well they will do with this, especially with conquest sales from Ford/VAG rather than existing owners trading up
What do others think? Any Honda/dealership employees with a view?

If the real thing looks like that, I could be in.

That does actually look pretty good. Much better than the hatchback IMO.

Miles better looking than the new Civic, they should junk the hatch and just sell this one. What on earth were they thinking of when they bought the new one out. The old one looked good, bit funky, had a bit of an attitude, was different, and had a great Star ship enterprise interior - the new one is just pig ugly with an interior that could be a Kia/Hyundai - awful.

Agree. I think Honda missed the mark with the new Civic. I drove one recently and I really liked it, but much of that was to do with the engineering quality rather than the looks, and with the fact that I like cars which are wilfully different to the mainstream. I admire Honda for doing something different and not just copying the Germans, but the result was unattractive to many people.

This version is IMHO better looking than the hatchback and is also probably the same size as the Insight. If they can sell it as a hybrid then they could drop the Insight as well.

looks like it was designed by the same people who did the new volvo/hyundai/kia, come to think of it any other euro box on the road nowadays, they all look the same.

the one i do like the look of however, is the ford focus st estate, and ya cant get much more euro box than that

Really like that.
The new Civic looked so drab and boring.

Normally the first picture we see of a new model is the concept car pic from a motor show, as we all know it will probably end up looking 99% like that.
Fact is though it will drive as brilliantly as the hatchback does, the looks we can do nothing about and speaking personally I'm not that keen, but they drive so bloody well its hard not to like them. I'm lucky and get one as a company car, they don't suit everybody but wouldnd't life be boring if we all liked the same thing.

Cheers.....Tony..
