Looking at getting a type r or a focus st,but like hondas I've got 1.6 vtec exec atm.
Is there anything to look out for on type r or is it just normal things and what sort of mpg do you get with easy driving as it will be my daily.thanks russ

I won't be great on short trips or in stop/start city driving, but I can get about 36mpg out of mine on a run if I take it reasonably steady. My normal tank-tank average for my 60mile daily round trip is around 31mpg and that includes cruising at 80 or so on a DCW and about 10 miles of fairly twisty B roads driven quickly (but not using VTEC much) and few miles bit of town driving.

You can make very good progress in the Type R by short shifting, the engine has quite a lot of torque for the weight of the car. If you like your 1.6 you will love the Type R.
