Hello all
My mate has a civic 2.2 diesel cdti and would like to connect his iPod. His question is can he get and install an iPod interface that will provide screen display on his sat nav screen and be able to operate by the steering wheel controls. All advice would be appreciated. Thanks

How old is his civic?
I have a 09 civic type r and in the centre consal I can connect an I pod there. I think it was fitted as standard
So I am guessing it is possible.

Not that I ever found when I had mine.

I went for the DICE one that seemed least bad - there's a switch on the unit so that it doesn't take over the iPod, you can still use the display and controls on it. The steering wheel and radio controls can still do track forward/back, and switching sources or a phone call coming in still pauses the music. I put a Brodit mount next to the little cubby above the gear lever and routed the cables into there. Easy to tuck away when you park up.

www.civinfo.com for guides on getting the dash apart and to the back of the radio, which is not the simplest of tasks!

There is no OEM or aftermarket ipod interface that will display info on the SatNav screen.

The aforementioned DICE unit (and a couple of other brands) are about as good as it gets.
