I'm experiencing some lift off oversteer in my Integra, just wondered if this was the norm with them?

it's nearly caught me out twice now, the back end feels really light throughout the corners.

is it normal or are there some things I can check to sort it out?

dan

I thought the ability to induce oversteer was what people loved about these things.

Look up the 5th gear test of the EP3 on youtube, it might be a "hot hatch shootout" type video now that I think of it, Tiff talks about the "playful" chassis the EP3 has a there is some footage of him making the back slide out at will. I've done it once, not at silly speed, just 35-ish on a wet december afternoon, on an off-camber, downhill left hander, left the downshift a little too late and the back end slid round, easily rectified and not at all a lairy slide angle, but it's do-able. Personally, I wouldn't bother trying to induce it, it's just slowing you down and on the road you will probably be travelling so fast that getting it wrong will have serious consequences. Even on track though, it seems like wasted tyres and wasted time.

Granted I had mine over the summer but not once did the back end step out. Roundabout king!

LOO is quite easy to induce with these cars but it was always very predictable..

If its not been done its worth checking the rear trailing arm bushes, these tend to fall apart and make the back end a bit vague.

You'll get lift off oversteer in any car if your goin fast enough. Difference being, like mentioned, DC2 is more controllable when it does happen,EP3 similar.
You can have a lot of fun in the teg.

Lift off oversteer in a DC2 is great fun, but any FWD will exhibit the same behaviour if you go into a corner hard enough...the great thing about the Teg is the LSD, next time you think your running out of grip mid-corner give the throttle a poke, and laugh out loud as the LSD gets to work and the nose tightens up as you put more power down!!

You can play with toe front and rear to get it how you like...but the 'teg should always be more progressive than the 205/306GTi type of LOO.

As above (and unusually for fwd) you can use the throttle to pull the car through a corner (as long as revs are mid-range or higher so the diff works properly). Under load the rear-end will feel like it's "taken an attitude", i.e. it's share of grip.

Can't say the rear end of mine feels particularly light. Sure you can get lift off oversteer if you're really pushing on but maybe get the bushes checked just to be sure?

Check the rear trailing arm bushes and get a 4 wheel alignment done. Alignment cured it on my old one (RTA bushes had already been done).

RTA bushes as above, also check ARB bushes and droplinks. Oh and last but not least tyre pressures however youve probably done the last one.
