Civic FN2 Spare key

I have recently picked up a (8th Gen) 2006 Civic Sport 1.8i Vtec and it only came with 1 key. The dealer has sent me a spare key and is arranging for it to be booked into Honda to be coded.

The spare key I have been sent is just the basic key and does not have the remote opening buttons on it.

Would the car have come new with 2 remote keys or 1 remote key and 1 basic key?

Mine 2.2 came with 2 remote keys both appear to be from a decade ago compared to the new style flip keys most cars come with.

They've always been ste. My old type r had a key and then a separate fob for central locking. At least now its all incorporated into one key!

It's my only niggle with an otherwise great car.
