Civic 03 Sport Heater

Hi all,

Just a quick question:

My Civic Sport is an 03 plate with climate control but I noticed today that the heater fan isn't working.

The air direction controller is working as I can hear the motors adjust the where the air-flow is going and the air-con light comes on. So, it's either the temp or speed controller.

I've had the car from new and have rarely used the speed controller as I leave it on 'auto' (as I do with the direction controller) so if anyone has had the same issue, please advise on how you resolved the issue.

Come fault you need a new fan motor resister its about £65 from Honda.

Take it to a garage, they need to take the glove box out undo a few bolts to get to it.

Don't just go for the motor check the resistor first. Mine just required a small bit of soldering and it was all good :-)

Heater was fixed by my local garage within a couple of days. It was the resister pack so nothing too major. They also ran a diagnosis on the air-con and confirmed that the condenser has past its best. That'll get done next month. Funny how things start to go wrong when you think about changing the car?!
