Hi, first time posting on here, just looking to get a bit of info from some drivers with more experience in this area than me on the CTR 04-05 models.

In a few months time I'll be looking to buy a decent hot hatch. Preferrably under £5000.

I've always wanted a CTR. I can now make the decision whether to get one. In terms of performance are the CTR 04-05 models still as great to drive as they were a few years ago?

And also what kind of mileage should really be the limit on the car I buy i.e. try not to buy one over 75k.

I've seen some 04-05 models with 50k on the clock at around £4000-£4500. Which seems pretty good as long as the services and all have been kept up to date.

Any other info on the CTR or what to look out for is appreciated too.

Cheers.

http://www.civictype-r.co.uk for everything you need to know

The K series is bulletproof if properly serviced and topped up with oil, a 100k mile car wouldnt worry me atall.

But for god's sake just buy an integra.

Why? Maybe he wants a newer car, thats a bit more well rounded.

Zeroz, welcome! This is what I have to say about the Civic Type R, on my blog, which can be found here, http://nitroaddiction.co.uk/?p=275
I owned one from new for 2 years (miss it). For your budget it's nicer than an Integra. A £5k Integra looks old.

You won't go wrong with an 04/05 plate CTR with 50k on the clock, that is now't for these engines.
However suggest you only buy with FSH!!

As mentioned, Integra's are a good buy too, Teg is the better drivers car, however, getting dated and body work starting to get ired on UK DC2s. Would be a JDM DC2 for me, or if you can stretch, most certainly the DC5 over the EP3. I've had all variants including FD2, and DC5 comes up trumphs for me!

Not for his budget. And then insurance is a lot more.

Yeah alright mate- tounge was firmly in cheek

But seriously OP, go test drive a DC2 before you settle on the civic.

I've owned both and now on my second teg.
