My '00 1st Gen CR-V has drivers door lock issues - the button won't raise far enough to unlock the door using key, remote or pulling the button by hand - if the outer door handle is fiddled with while cycling the door lock, it will finally unlock and will then work for the next few times.

I've had the latch assembly out of the door, lubed it all up, and refitted it experimenting with the outer door handle linkage adjustment, and it's made little difference, so my guess is the latch is terminal....

Main question is..... is this a common problem, and assuming I could find one, would buying a secondhand latch be a worthwhile risk? I haven't asked the local dealer what a new one would cost yet, assuming that part for a twelve yr old car is still available without having to sell one of my kids for medical experiments to fund it!

My parents have the same car - MY00 on a W plate with the same problem. Not long clocked 100k and has started throwing up niggles like the above. Like yourself, we have had it appart and lubed while replacing a window regulator and door handle but still we are stuck with the same issue.

Local dealer will be able to get the part, however dont expect it to be cheap. Scrappies are scarce for most of these things too. Might be worth while filling in one of those online part search things? We had a a clock off a scrap yard down London direction for £15 - Honda £80.
