Hey all changed my brake pads bought some pagids been nearly 2 weeks ans damn do they get squeaky once warmed up and they are getting on my nerves. It only does it if i gently apply the brakes slowing down to stop.

Any ideas?

Thanks

i had my mechanic change my red stuff pads for some other normal pads and having the same issue, this was November, he serviced the car in Feb and sanded the top layer of the pads for me and it was fine again with no squeaks again until last week! been wondering myself why this is happening.

Its the brake dust from the pads, you normally find this when you buy non genuine pads, as you have said clean them it goes, then comes back, you will have to live with it unfortunately until the pads wear out or replace them with genuine ones.

Did the Pagids come with Shims? Fitted Red Stuff Pads on mine on Friday and currently in the process on bedding them in so being very gentle on the brakes, but no squeal as yet.
When I installed mine I put a smear of copper grease between pad and shim and a smear on the back of the shim where the caliper sits.

A local garage had done it for me. I went and spoke to him and he said its the defo because they are cheap pads. I hate these pads so going to pop in to honda a get an original set. Hope you get better luck with them. Im happy with the stopping power but its that alwful noise i cant take it no more

Put pagid pads and discs on mine recently and the noise they make is horrible! Very embarrassing when in slow moving traffic.

When i had ferodo DS2500 fitted they done the same thing though.

If they squeal it's usually because you haven't bedded them in properly. It takes a while http://civictype-r.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=27&...

Not sure who makes them but i have never had a problem with Honda genuine pads, there only bout £45 quid i think and they last longer than the cheaper ones and dont get that horrible noise on braking you get from the red ones.
