What with all the recent buyers guides in the press and mags every man and his dog are looking for a 20 year old low milage manual car for 15k.

They are like rocking horse st.

Good luck!

Nice, car.

The phone number comes up as that for a company called Embankment Cars, although they have no stock and no landline!

Hadn't spotted that, and that explains it.

Would obviously need to know what warranted the registration on VCAR.

Top car, which will cost me top money too unfortunately!

I'm also considering a TVR Sagaris.

One will be loud temperamental and easy to find, and one will be refined reliable and hard to find.

In which case can I be the first to suggest you don't know what you want - the two cars are almost polar opposites.

Come back when you know what you want...that way you won't waste a serious seller's time.

I surely don't need to spell it out to you?

Their driving characteristics, looks and ownership experience are completely different...if you haven't worked out which you want then are you really serious about either???

Go drive them both, then decide what you want, THEN post up that you're hunting for whichever car appeals most. That's what I did 3 years ago... (NSX was my long-term dream, but wanted to benchmark it, make sure I was making the right decision, so drove a 'vette C6, E46 M3 and Caterham Roadsport 150. THEN I started properly looking for the right car!)

Both cars are exactly the same!!

If you look at my profile you will see that I already own 4 very different cars, but they are all collectable.. well apart from the STI!

My passion is cars, I have the money to buy another car, the main criteria is that the car has a solid value!

Both the NSX and the Sagaris will be enjoyable to own, and both are cars that I should buy sooner rather than later.

But, I think the choice between the a facelift and a pre-facelift NSX is the most difficult choice.

I don't think the OP deserved the disproportionate amount righteous criticism. The "surely I don't have to spell it out" comment's a little melodramatic.
It is ok to have options. Both cars represent a potential investment. Both cars have increased in value recently.
And I am sure that the OP realizes that both cars offer a different ownership propositions.
If the OP has a shopping list, that's his choice. Most people do. Thats how things get bought and sold. Person A expresses an interest, person B buys or sells. Or in some cases doesn't.
So to get on your little horse when you don't have all the information is just plain rude really.

Perhaps I was a little blunt, but to say "I'm in the market for X, but, oh, I'll also consider a completely different car" strongly suggests that the chap is either (a) indecisive; (b) hasn't driven either and therefore could be wasting a seller's time; or (c) is a speculator.

I have a personal problem with (c), but it seems to be acceptable in the monied circles, so that's my tough luck. Alternatively, if he's (a) or (b), to come out with a strong statement in the OP and then casually caveat it afterwards doesn't sound like someone very serious.

yupp apple vs oranges...and some people say gold is also good for investment if that's your main reason for buying another car smile
