Does the above (54 plate) have an mpg gauge?

My '03 Accord didn`t but a friend had a `07 Accord that did. Quite when they changed I don`t know.

Maybe, I've seen pre and post facelift cars wearing '54' plates. Only the facelift cars have the gagues.

They have different wheels, if you have a pic of it you should be able to see if it's a facelift car.

If it's pre-facelift, make sure it hasn't got a cracked exhaust manifold - it's so common it's not funny and I've just been given a quote for £700 to fix mine.

It's pre - front edge of bonnet wears chrome trim, and steering wheel lacks extra buttons on bottom half.
Those are the easiest ways to tell the difference.

Yeah pre.

I 'still' love mine, it'll swallow a Downhill bike whole without removing the wheels, does lots of MPG, rides nicely and is incredibly comfortable - hardly sets the world on fire though, not very PH at all ha ha. My OH is getting a little tired of my begging her to buy a Swift Sport when she changes her car.

Buy with your eyes open, they're not in the 'total reliability' bracket as most Hondas, in-so-much-as they're incredibly reliable apart from a few very common failures which seems to affect lots pre-facelift cars.

Exhaust Manifold failure - if it's less than 7 year old and 125k miles - free, 1 mile or 1 day over - £700 +

VSA (their version of ESP) failure if it's less than 6 years old and 64k miles - free, 1 mile or 1 day older £2000 +

Timing chains if it's less than 7 year old and 125k miles - free, 1 mile or 1 day over - Not sure, but lots.

There are a few minor ones too.

Oh yes, sorry they're main dealer prices. They can all be fixed cheaper, especially if you can face dealing the second-hand parts dealers.

The manifold kit for example is c£400 new from Honda, £300 on eBay, about £150 used. Days labour or so to fit it.

Be carefull buying second hand exhaust manifolds as they may not be the modified ones and the same will end up happening again
