Hi all,

Who is a good supplier of rear drop links for a EP3? Dealer price looks like it is around £60 each.

Cheers

Yep, ebay is the place to go when replacing rear droplinks. Necessary when changing rear ARB.

Ended up getting one from that seller (looks like they forgot to send it, which was a PITA, after a week I sent a message, which resulted them sending it for Saturday morning delivery) - it wasn't OEM, forgot the maker as I have binned the box, but looked absolutely fine regardless. One better thing than original items was you could use a open spanner on it rather than (only) a 5mm hex key.

Of the 3 the nuts I have to undo (the one of a car, and one left on the replacement trailing arm), all ended up spinning the hex tool in the joint pin before I got it off - ended up grinding them off, but even that takes quite a bit of time. I am going to order a net splitter set for the next time, as that was a real ball ache!

It seems that all generations of Civics suffer from rust in regular places and the drop links are one of those on EPs. At least EP3 rear arches aren't (as) prone to rust as EGs and EKs are.

It's a PITA to change these, but props to your perseverance. Have you considered changing to a 24mm rear ARB by Progress?

Most jobs are easy when you have the right tools - I think a nut splitter is the right one for these! Well it is a good excuse to buy a set for next time smile

It is the OH's car, so not sure she would like me changing things already. Hmmm, a nice exhaust system.... wink

There are a number of things you could change about the car and she may not even have a clue.

The exhaust manifold and b-pipe are restrictive. You could change to:

An aftermarket b-pipe (see the guy who sells them on the civic type r forum) and a piper sports manifold with sports cat. RBC intake manifold and modify the airbox yourself (search for "hondata airbox mod").

K100 or K-Pro remap

Limited slip diff.
JDM rear ARB.
Fast road setup.

All of the above could be done without changing the backbox and without making the exhaust/engine much louder and would actually make the car handle much better. If you don't think she'd notice the handling changes then go for it.

Your credit rating can thank me later.
