I'm after a bit of PH help. I went to view an S2000 earlier and, as it's been a fee years sine my last one, I don't recall how flush the roof sits when it is fully reclined. I felt that the roof on the '04 car I viewed just wasn't folding down all the way. I didn't give it a gentle nudge to fold the last bit - I don't ever recall that my S2000 needed that done to be honest...

So, does anyone have an image of their hood stowed away they could post up?! The google images are pretty naff!

Check www.s2ki.co.uk, it's not uncommon and it's usually one of the following:
1. Cold roof (the roof is more supple when warmer)
2. Elastics loosing their tension
3. Fold of material near the rear screen folds "out" rather than flush.

All of the above have simple fixes. Do not force the roof though.

Thanks. Reassuring to know. Get the feeling the car hadn't been used recently so may have just been stiff.

It's been a long time since I fiddled round an S2000 - had to think for a minute where the boot release catch was! All came flooding back though smile

I suppose one way of checking is to try and fit the tonneau cover - if the roof is supposed to be fully down, you shouldnt have to put any pressure on the roof to fit the cover.

Mine was a bit stiff (oo er) last week as it hadn't been down for a few weeks - the way I check to see if it is all the way down is checking over my shoulder - should be able to see part of the 'boot edge' for want of a better decription.

I just raised and lowered mine a few times and it sat flush again.

Definitely didn't sit flush then as it was (IIRC) sat about half way up the wind deflector!

Have decided that im not going to go for it anyway. Apart from the roof not sitting flush, it had a slight tear in it (repaired on the inside though) and the disks were in dire need of replacement. The reat tyres were B'stones but the fronts were ditchfinders. All in I reckon a few hundred quid to get it ship shape.

The search continues!

Check out the details on the roof fix. http://modifry.com/products/index.htm

Elastic is usually knackered after a few years, if you apply some light pressure to one of the bars when the roof is going down it helps it fold
