Hi All,

I have a 2002 Honda Stream SE Sport 1997cc vtec engine 148bhp, nice car, but you can only get 30mpg out of it, even on a run!! I've done a google, but can't find anything about getting it chipped to get more mpg. Any ideas on where I could get this done or how much? Surely this engine must be in more than just the Stream. I'm in East Anglia so the closer the better really.

Thanks in advance

The same engine was also fitted to the Accord 2003 > and CRV 2001 >, civic type s from 2003 >, it was never the most economical engine and I don't know of anyone offering a "economy chip" for it, if you are getting around 30mpg from it running around local then that sounds about right to me,although it should do more on a run, they are a big car mind, just make sure it is well serviced to keep it running at maximun effeciency.

Cheers.....Tony..

edited to add: I have just checked the official Honda fuel consumption sheets that I have lying around for the stream and it is urban 24.8mpg, extra urban 40.4mpg, combined average 32.8mpg, that was from 2005 but the car was pretty much the same as you have got I believe apart from a minor face lift. thumbup

Yeah I read that and thought it wouldn't be too bad when it was bought and even was pleased at getting 30mpg around town driving. However been on a couple of runs (East Anglia to Carlisle)on the A1 and it still does the same mileage (to within 10-20 miles) to a full tank as urban driving??
