Hello folks, j

Just popping my head around the Honda door for some advice if possible.

T'other half is thinking of chopping in her 57 plate civic and buying a crz in the near future.

We had a look at one today and it does seem a nice thing. Well, either that or the new civic which we are going to have a look at on Monday.

I'm swinging towards the crz.

Any views on them here on ph appreciated.

Thanks

Mike. beer

Let me know Mike what you decide. I'm non plussed on the next gen Civic so may go back to looking at the CRZ.

I really like them, although I do think they are colour sensitive. If buying new they are doing 4 years free servicing and breakdown cover.

Will do Cat. Must admit, I'm not a fan of the new civic and it's bulgy rear end biggrin

We looked at a lovely crz today, in a mid blue pearl effect paint and black leather, lovely looking thing. And another in white with white leather eek The salesman preferred the white one, I most definately didn't.

Will keep you posted and give you a run down on it...

Not seen a white interior in one. I have seen a lovely grey metallic with red leather at the dealership in Chippenham. I don't think I've seen a blue one as yet, when I said colour sensitive I was thinking of red, they just don't seem to suit the colour.

I have seen a new Civic on the M4 and it did look much better than in the pictures I've seen so far.

I've had my CRZ GT Nav for almost a year now. It's been a lovely car to own / run and still feels special. No problems apart from interior rattles which Honda have mostly sorted now. The supercharged version due out next year has the potential to add real performance to it's good looks.

Is it all good with the CRZ then? My brother fancies one so I'm searching PH for the real life facts.

I might go have a look at one myself at weekend and see what I think.

Can't do any harm trying one. Visited the Wirral and the CRZ got plenty of interest. I've even had people taking pictures of their friends next to it!

I just had a poke around one at local dealership. Had white plastic interior trim which was a bit cheap sounding.

Also, 5 speakers. Was the fifth one in the boot a sub? Dealer seemed clueless.

2 year 0% on a new one wasn't too bad I thought though.

Are they still doing the 4 year servicing and Breakdown cover on them?

5th speaker is indeed a subwoofer. What spec CRZ was viewed?

The S has the basic stereo while sport & GT get the more powerful version with the rear bass speaker in the left hand side of the boot. GT Nav has a Honda custom Alpine system (voice control etc.).

Option wise, invest in the comfort pack, the extendable arm rest is very comfy!

One of my old managers has one - it is white and we called it "The milk float". From what I know he has had it for 18 months odd, with no problems.

I have had a white GT Nav one for a few months now, and absolutely love it. Great fun, economical, and a lovely interior with all the toys. Sadly I may have to sell it soon as we are moving house and three cars needs to become two, and my wife loves her car so looks like the Honda. A nice left field choice, lovely to drive and I would recommend one.

Agreed, they're very nice inside and out whilst being good to drive. If only Honda would produce the super-charged version that's on their website by Mugen!

No horror stories here Mike. We've gotten quite intimate with CR-Z's and continue to be impressed!

I've also been looking too!

From a test drive I've had, it handles pretty well with enough poke to get you around town, however I didn't really get to drive it on a dual carriage way. it feels really well built, it was a GT model, but didn't have the sat nav which I would want

Has anyone got nav? and is it any good I have a FN2 with sat nav and its been pretty good so far.

A dealer in Newcastle has the mugen supercharged version so considering a drive up to test drive it as it would be an option I'd definitely consider!

I've got the GT NAV version. The software and system hasn't changed for around 10 years - great if you like the retro look. Only the maps are updated although it is touch screen.
