The S2000 is mine and before you get too excited the NSX is my brother. I brought the S2000 August 2011, My brother owned his NSX for nearly 5 years.

A proper garage in both senses! thumbup

Have you driven each others' yet, to compare? IMHO a very interesting mix, given they're two 'halo' cars from the same mfr...

Hi everyone, I had my garage purpose built in 2005, it has a toilet, shower, central heating, full fire alarm system, room upstairs, and a kitchen aswell, We've driven each others car's BUT the NSX is on a different level. Handling, Power, Noise, Presence etc. But I am MORE then happy with my S2000, I was'nt intending of buying one but the one evening my brother saw it on the internet (Wednesday) and told me about it, and we went to look at it on the (Friday) and just brought it, i've driven it about 900 miles (it had done 8,700 mile when i'd brought it from a 1 lady owner), i'll keep you guy's posted how I get on, Thank You for your post's I really appreciate it.

Welcome.

Lovely cars, both of them. I've driven S2000s and they're brilliant, but sadly I've only ever sat in an NSX.

Great garage too.

You might want to visit s2ki if you've just bought an 09 S2000

Appears there are quite a few 08/09 cars which have bottom end related engine failure or develop a death rattle

There's a few 09 owners driving round on their 3rd engine having also suffered a failure of the replacement motor

Sorry to put a bit of a dampener on your new car. I'm sure it will be fine but best to have a good listen to your engine before the warranty runs out. The rattle is best heard around 2k revs.

No probs mate. It's a very subtle rattle best heard when stationary. Have a read of the "Information For 09 Owners" thread over on S2KUK. Not all the later cars are affected.

Honda are apparently investigating the cause of the engine failures but have been doing that for months. Read into that what you will. The engines started failing over 2 years ago.

If your dealer says they are not aware of any problems direct them towards the thread on S2KUK. Honda have not released any info to the dealer network but Honda UK are well aware of the issues as is documented in the thread and there are a few contact names mentioned at Honda.

Hopefully your car will be issue free but it's best to know.

Aside from that the S2000 is a great car. Enjoy.
