S2000 Frustrating search is over.
Discussion
I posted on here recently about struggling to find a good honest s2000 that meets my very high standards, well as the title suggests I found one fairly local to me which is sods law as some rather tatty examples I looked at were a very long way away.
Any way here it is, it's a 1999 version which was my preference really with only 30k genuine miles on the clock and full Honda service history, the hard top wasn't my ideal really as I have no where to store it so it has to stay on the car until I sort out a home for it. during it's 12 years it must have only seen rain a handfull of times as underneath the arches etc it is immaculate, anyway here are some pics
Hope the pics have posted ok.
Cheers.....Tony..

Looks like a true gem, well done! I really think that red suits the S2000s very well, then again, I love red sports cars. I can see why your search would have been frustrating though, the standard of that car seems well beyond that of many considerably younger cars (mine included), unfortunately not many S2000s seem to be cherised, especially now as they fall in wrong hands.
Hope you don't plan to drive it in the wet/snow now!
Can't you do a hoist for the hardtop in the garage?

That looks very nice can you give us an idea what you paid for it?
This I've viewed 4 s2000s now, and I'm beginning to think they're all a bit ropey. Even the £13,000 dealer one had poor paint!
ETA: Why was the 1999 your preference?

Honda paint is super thin/crap..i think trying to save weight they just quickly spray a single tin over the car and be done with it I've viewed 4 s2000s now, and I'm beginning to think they're all a bit ropey. Even the £13,000 dealer one had poor paint!

Thanks for all your kind words chaps, the car will only be used on dry salt free days so hopefully it should stay as it is now, I wanted a very early one as they are a bit more "edgier" than the later ones even though they did have some very good improvements on them, my previous car was a TVR and I wanted something more usable that even the wife could drive if need be but it had to be as hard core as possible if that makes sense. I do a yearly trip to the Nurburgring and I am looking forward to seeing how the S2000 stacks up there.
Thanks again chaps.

you can purchase a bag for the hard top and hang it on the wall , works perfect and protects the hard top. Probable cost £60.
I've got one of these bags which is no longer used. Make me an offer if you're interested.Nice looking car, get over to www.s2kuk.com
I think I just bought a 2001 - 80,000 miles, FHSH, black on black and the guy let it go for £4400... deal of the weak?
Overall good condition, minor tear in the corners of the hood, but they all seem to have this at this age. Does it let water in? It's just behind the window, on the "shoulder" of the car.
The only other "issue" I found was a fairly grabby clutch with the biting point fairly high (though no higher than the 07 I drove). I'm guess this is normal, or potentially master cylinder which is fairly cheap to replace. It certainly didn't slip!
