Solid Fabrications exhaust
Discussion
Just wondering if anyone has had any experience with "Solid Fabrications"
Apparently they (Alan) have fabricated alot of Honda accord type R exhausts and one or two Integra DC2's
http://solid-fabrications.co.uk/DC2.aspx
Im basically looking for a standard looking back box and possibly manifold that is less restrictive and a bit more raspy. I enjoy doing track day so i really dont want o have too many issues with noise regs and high DB.
Thanks in advance.

I'd say their work is probably good. Best really to get along in person and have a poke about their workshop, see the stuff and get hands on - no good builder looking for customers would say no! I was going to get an exhaust for my old Fiesta built to spec at such a place in Newcastle, they were more than happy to discuss everything from tone, volume, tip style, mounting etc.
A builder worth their salt will know how to get exactly what you want by altering the length and shape of the backbox, adjusting volume by the presence and shape of a centre box etc.

Thanks for that.
I intend to get down there and have a good long chat in person. Over the phone I was advised the cost of a back box for my DC2 would be around £200 which i thought was reasonable. Apparently he can measure, fabricate and fit the back box in around 4 hours…
Is that a normal time scale? Sounds very quick to me.
On the website under "Integra DC2 projects" Solid fabrications apparently managed to make an extra 123BHP from just a custom manifold. Sounds a bit optimistic doesn’t it?

In that link you gave us, it says that it made 13.5bhp extra over the standard item, which is not unbelieveable, am I looking at the wrong thing?
You are looking at the correct link. I didnt think a simple manifold change 4 to 1 could put up a N/A 1.8 engine by 13.5 BHP....zorba_the_greek said:
Will try and pop down to him in the next week or two and see what he can fabricate for my Integra.
Im after a Spoon N1 look alike but not so loud!! lol i like my hearing and I want to be able to attend track days with less the 105 DB.
Shouldn't be a problem. I've just got a boggo 2.5" cat-back from them which I'm very happy with but others I know have had Mugen or Tri-Y replica manifolds from them with good, proven results on the dyno and no problems with leaks or such a few years on.Im after a Spoon N1 look alike but not so loud!! lol i like my hearing and I want to be able to attend track days with less the 105 DB.

Possible, with a manifold and Catback. Easily done on the K20 with a manifold change, id imagine 13bhp was doable with a quality header on the DC2 lump.If you want a bit more raspy noise, id look at maybe just changing the mid pipe, if you kept the standard back box, and say a Spoon N1 mid pipe it should keep the noise down for trackdays, but sound a bit better.

Like a 2.5" size mid pipe?If you want a bit more raspy noise, id look at maybe just changing the mid pipe, if you kept the standard back box, and say a Spoon N1 mid pipe it should keep the noise down for trackdays, but sound a bit better.
