First Honda, First 250 miles.
Discussion
Okay, so having passed my test in 1984, I've only ever driven 2 Japanese cars, my wife's Suzuki SC100 Flying Zit which we sold to the scrap man, and her Mx5 mk1 which is erm fun.
So having spend the last ten years owning various vauxhalls, including 3 mk2 cavalier, 3 mk3 astras, plus a volvo s40, mini 1000, and a mk3 cavalier (we are keeping that, so the MX5 can stay in the garage in the winter), I decided to invest in an 04 Accord 2.2 icdti Executive.
After just 250 miles, I have to say it's the nicest car I've driven. Only one fault so far. When you press the rear window demist the radio interference is off the scale. Not sure why. But wonder if it's anything to do with the Parrot Blue Tooth that's fitted (I read the manual on that and it might take a while to figure out LOL)
So I usually do my own servicing (I'm a Chartered Manufacturing Engineer, so I can usually cope with most simple stuff. But what about a service manual? Haynes does not do one. Although the Owners manual does have info on oil and filter changes, thats about as far as it goes.

Managed 46 MPG on my first 520 miles, before the Fuel warning light came on.
Mixture of 250 motorway miles with cruise control set to 70, 150 Miles of Dual Carriage ways, with the odd roundabout, 50 miles of town driving, 10 miles of crawling at 0 to 5 mph in a jam or two and the rest A and B roads.
Which is some 22 mpg MORE than a 1.8 Cavalier.

I too have just bought my first Honda, an Accord also.So having spend the last ten years owning various vauxhalls, including 3 mk2 cavalier, 3 mk3 astras, plus a volvo s40, mini 1000, and a mk3 cavalier (we are keeping that, so the MX5 can stay in the garage in the winter), I decided to invest in an 04 Accord 2.2 icdti Executive.

The radio interference is caused by the antenna being integrated into the rear window. It isn't as bad on the Tourer because the antenna is in the side windows, which don't have a heater element.
Does the Executive have a good level of toys? I went for an SE as I wanted to get the youngest one I could. Miss leather seats and the cruise control.

When you say Toys ? It has a 6 disc changer, and climate control, and cruise control, something called VSM, which I think is a form of traction control, it definately has Abs, but it doesn't appear to have any on board fuel consumption guessing device, and there are 5 electric windows if you count the sunroof, and central locking and a remote boot release, but more importantly it has chrome door handles, and chrome around the windows which makes me want to wear a suit when I drive it. Wifey loved the heated seat when we went to York to drop off the first born to start university. It pretty much solved her back pain. To be honest it's the first decent car I've had in the last 10 years of motoring.
