Hi All,

Ive been looking around forums and youtube at Civics with K20 and B18 engine swaps and wondered roughly how much this would cost? Ideal base car for me would be an EK hatch which I guess I could pick up for a round 1500!? Also, are there any companies in the south east who could do it?

Budget for the whole project would be around 5k and it would be used as a daily driver (Only around 10 miles a day however)

Failing this, Ive also been looking at EK VTI coupes and hatchbacks but there dont seem to be many for sale in the Kent/London area - if anyone knows of any good examples please contact me!

Cheers

Al

Come over to www.civiclife.net. Lots of info there.

You're looking around 4-5k for. K20 swap Tbh. Think you have Hond-R in London who are experts in it.

They are proper fast cars with a K20!

Do not bother with buying a D series equipped one if you have the intention of dropping a B series straight in it. Get an EK4/EM1 from the start, they are much better cars and a lot easier to swap the Type R B series engines in to should you be so inclined.

Not neccessarily. The Ek chasis is very very easy to swap engines round. As long as you get the correct OBD (1 for 96-99, 2 for 99-00) and then it's pretty much plug and play for a B swap.

K20 swaps in any chassis are a bit of a ball ache TBH.

Hehe i had a play with what started life as a 1.5 Civic Coupe LSI or something like that, and it was pretty much neck and neck to 4th gear and thats in a DC5 with nearly 20bhp more than standard. Owner said it has a b18 engine in, was completey stripped mind.
