Sounds about right to be honest.

I am 24 but I have 5yrs NCB Protected and pay £1207 with Admiral Multicar. Car is a 2002 and is kept in a secure driveway in a 'good' postcode.

I tried Adrian Flux, they couldn't find cover for me, nor could Sky, Sureterm, Chris Knott and Footman James. Young drivers and S2ks just don't mix by the sound of it! I think you just have to really ring around till you find a good price. Oh and make sure you add your parents as named drivers.

Oh and join the Owners Club, you can get around 10-15% discount by doing that and its only a tenner!

Wait till you are 25 and insure it on a future classic policy

I was 29 when I insured my 2005 back in April. The cheapest I could find was £1060 with Tesco. That's with 9 years ncb and a not-so-good post code.

I had tried to get quotes from a couple of the recommended insurers from the S2kUK website, but one quoted north of £1800 and the other told me that their underwriter no longer insured S2000's at all. rolleyes

I've had mine since 28, and I was paying about £900 back then. 6 years on I'm paying £600.

Is it possible to get classic insurance for these yet? Normally cars >10 years old are eligible.

I'm 31 with 7 years NCB, insured with Elephant for 12000 miles per year with business cover, parked on driveway in what I assume to be a safe postcode. I pay £650. I did try Adrian Flux et al but they couldn't come close.
