Good find, I work at a honda dealer and have spent all afternoon trying to find some pic's. It's like the love child bewteen the Insight and the current Civic.

A terrible colour, but I do like the look of it.

A reserved "like" (but then I do own a current one).

What seems bonkers to me is to put radio info on the dash display but then have a separate nav display further down. I love having my nav just below my eyeline right now. I can see why they've done it (they seem to be standardising the units across the range) but I really want to see more integration, not less.

18 buttons on that steering wheel too spin

Exactly my thoughts. Not bad at all, but really not much different to the current one really.

I think so long as they have sorted the 8th gen's shortcomings and everything is decent quality then I'd be quite happy.

I guess from a design point of view the outgoing car is quite hard to beat.

Any ideas about what the verticle lump is under the right hand rear light cluster?

The official line is there won't be a Type R and the car will be 5 door only, although an estate is likely to be produced.

I think it looks pretty good...

But the fact that there is no more type R makes me quite sad inside really.

What will the specs of the "sportiest" edition be,160 bhp ish?

The only engine spec announced so far is the new 2.2 which is around 150, but has achieved a rather remarkable low co2 figure.

The 1.4 and 1.8 are continuing but specs for those haven't been announced.

I`m guessing it is some sort of aerodynamic addition to break up airflow. The Audi A2 had ones like it built into the rear light units.

Looks nice - will be interested to see a 3 door version. Pity that there will be no Type-R though!

It is fitted to the 2.2 diesel models and aerodynamically reduces the co by 1 gram per kilometer.

Cheers.....Tony..

The model specs look good. I do think they could have improved the performance of both petrols though. Also there is still no news on weights.

Are we looking at a genuinely NEW Civic, or is this a "FN-and-a-half"?

Overall proportions and hardpoints look very similar to the FN...wonder if they're repeating the EG to EK development?!?

(Either that or the designers have been very lazy...)

More mehness from a once great ENGINEERING manufacturer.
Steering button look very cheap, and the module at 7 o'clock is off the Accord.
Gear stick is 1970's, still can't be arsed to colour code the wheel arch trims, and the Pioneer head unit looks extremely aftermarket rather than factory fit.
Alloy design is mediocre at very best too.

If Honda doesn't buck up its ideas very soon, Hyundai & Kia will relegate the brand to Lada status.
They have been a company going backwards at breakneck speed, with little sign of slowing down.

A touring version you say?
Yes, just what the market is crying out for!
Based on which chassis - this or the JDM saloon one?
