Wondered if anyone has had any success improving the brakes on a CRV?
We've a new EX as the family car with now 3k on the clock. The car stops ok but never with a confidence inspiring 'bite' to the brakes. Keep telling myself that it's because I leap into it after driving my car and need to get used to the extra bulk but I wouldn't mind having a bit more punch in the stopping department.
Anyone with any similar thoughts?

I have a 57 plate on 19k miles - just replaced the front & rear pads as they won't make the next annual service. (You can guess I don't do a lot of miles!)
Can't say I've noticed anything bad about the brakes - they're certainly a lot better than the ones on the Focus, Astra, BMW 1 series and Avensis I often drive. Maybe its because I'm a gentle driver and don't actually use my brakes much - only reason they get replaced is because my cars an auto.
My other CRV (a '99 plate) has just had new pads fitted after 70k miles on the old ones. New pads (not Honda) are not quite as grippy and squeal more.
