Honda Accord 2.2 CDI Dropping Revs - Help Needed Pls
Discussion
My partner has a 06 plate Honda Accord 2.2 CTDI and loves this car, until a problem that we can't seem to resolve.
Basically, when the revs drop below 2K (in any gear) the car feels like it's about to konk out (like it's bad clutch control) but when you go to put your foot on the accelerator a little more to drive out of it, it seems to take a while for it to get back to it's usual self.
I've taken it to a mechanic, and after they have wired it up to the computer it's not showing any fault, but I really dont know what's causing this, as it seems to of started almost over night, and no one can seem to fatham out what has caused it.
A number of people have driven this (to make sure it's not just my wife's driving) and it's the same everytime.
I dont' want to take it to a garage and get ripped off, but at the same time, I want to get this fixed.
Does anyone have any ideas please?

Sounds like a MAF or EGR sensor causing misfueling, but could be wrong.
I'd pull the MAF and clean it, and give the engine a good bootful a right few times.
Disconnecting the battery will reset the ECU fueling learned, in case you're using poorer quality fuel.
I'd also throw BG Products 248 into the tank, and run that as recommended through 2 tankfuls.
If after that relatively inexpensive testing the problem remains, then you'll need to investigate further.
I wouldn't also rule out potential sludge build up - a BG flush and oil change will rule that out just as easily as a compression test, and benefit the engine into the bargain.
Just make sure oil is low SAPS variety - API SM at least.
I favour Motul, but check Opie Oils site for others suitable as well.
