Hi there! This is my first time venturing into the Honda space on PH, and I'm sorry that it is to ask a question right away, but I hope you guys will be able to answer.

I am a member here : http://www.fantasygarage.co.uk/

I am taking out the Honda NSX-T they have in the fleet and I wanted to know the size of the boot. I am flying up LGW-EDN and so I won't have tons of kit but I don't want to have me or the Mrs have a luggage bag that won't fit if you see what I mean?

I normally take a couple of soft large holdalls each ( so 4 ) as I have an E36 M3 Evo Conv and that can take 2 big hard cases side by side ( but here is why I am asking ) only if they are not too high etc. As I am flying they now restrict it to 1 bag as well as weight so my normal plan on driving holidays of having 2 medium bags each is a bit scuppered. frown So I am thinking of using a proper case I would take on a 10 day holiday as I am renting the NSX for a day and night and then taking the DB9 which should take 2 luggage cases easily being FR and not MR and we are away for 6 nights which is a bit much for a holdall.

Ooh, I must add that I am very excited about getting some Japanese VTEC goodness in as I have only really spent time in old British classics like MG's, Jags, Jensens etc and then German stuff myself. My mate has a scooby but that is a turbo boxer so looking forward to this type of driving experience.

Any tips? Edinburgh to St Andrews with a few diversions is the route I hope to enjoy.

The boot space is big enough to take 2 sets of standard size golf sets.
The height/depth of the boot is big enough to fit a tyre size 245/45/17....the boot is slightly odd shape where it is deeper at one side compare to the other.

Also the Targa roof panel fits into the space above the engine cover...you can even fit a squishy hold-all bag in this space but my hamper your rear view.

I must be misunderstanding, this implies the NSX can get two sets of golf clubs in the boot. Even my M3 would struggle with that!

The boot is reasonably shallow but with a large footprint - it probably can take two 'slim' sets of golf clubs in it. Targa is no different to coupe as the roof fits over the engine bay.

I'd say dimensions are roughly:-
- 13-14" high.
- ~16-18" deep front-to-back - possibly a bit more still. Left hand 40% is a couple of inches deeper.
- At least 45" wide, but you may lose a couple of those if it's got a multichanger.

On hols we take one large-ish holdall (24"x15"x12"), one camera rucksack (typical Lowepro 15" high x ~10"x9") and a similar size 'normal' rucksack (i.e. sensible carry-on size). We've then got space to fit ~5 pairs of shoes and a few coats around in the gaps, plus a small toolkit. The wife's toiletry bag (think mid-size slim handbag) then goes behind my headrest.

That is a useful bit of space behind the seats (unless you're both >6ft) - I'm 5'10" and we've tended to stack wine bottles behind my seat on the way back from France.

So I'd be tempted to take:-
- One large-ish holdall
- 2 moderately full rucksacks as carryon
- Something squishy with shoes etc. in that you can 'decant' into the gaps in the boot and fit the empty bag behind a seat.

PS - just been out and measured up - 49" x 18" x 11", with a curved cut-out behind passenger seat adding up to an extra 4" depth. 49" is wall-to-wall though - the aperture loses a couple of inches each side as the wings curve over, and the autochanger costs you 3" on RHS if fitted. Plus it's got rounded corners everywhere, so don't bring square boxes to those dimensions!
