I've been sent to many for sale ads on Pistonheads to see ITR's for sale. I started looking around on these forums and realized it feels more like a research type of forum rather than a technical help type of forum. I started an ITR owner registry just over 3 years ago. It turned in to much more of a history project as I obtained all my resources and contacts. Below is a bit of information about the project. I figure if this is a forum where people do alot of research and comparisons of cars, then the info I've gathered might come in handy.

The registry has been around since 08/08/08. Both previous and past Integra Type-R owners can register their caR's and have a little place to add pictures, comments, buld lists, etc. With over 865 caRs on the registry now, it is fun to surf the listings and see all the beautiful and "interesting" R's out there. It's fun to see and share a common intrest with so many Honda enthusiasts around the globe. The listings are based on the interior badge number found on all integra type-r's with the exception of the JDM 96-spec, non Rx JDM 98-spec, and DC5 ITRs. Those are still listed, but listed in order by year, then listed date. With the badge number, there is no need to use a VIN or any registration type of info in this registry. That should make ITR owners happy due to the obvious safety concerns.

The second part of the registry's website is the information side of things. I have a large collection of Type-R sales brochures, accessory catalogs, press information kits, and some other odds and ends such as Mugen catalogs. I have also been working directly with Honda of Australia, and Honda/Acura of America and been getting some help with some facts and recently gained the ability to figure out missing badge numbers for 1997 and 1998 American ITR's. If you have a 1997 or 1998 I'll just need your VIN. Apparently if the VIN serial number (last 5-digits) is over 04113, then it isn't on the list. The list doesn't go higher than that. That only encompasses a small portion of each '97s and '98s. All of these things are located on the "Links" page and are categorized accordingly. I have also put together some pages to compare the differences between the ITR's in different markets. Please take a look and feel free to ask me any questions.

Good idea. Liking the effort so far. Have you flagged this on itr-dc2.com?

One suggestion...although this could be a lot of work...how about a list of past owners, who're contactable (but keeping e-mails anonymous to start with, like the PH Private Messaging) - would be very valuable then to potential buyers who can then find out more history on a car...

...which could then become a revenue stream? Membership required to PM?!?

ITR-DC2 has a similar thread there as a sticky smile

It's been alot of work the past few years getting all the content on there, but alot of fun doing it. I've certainly learned alot.

I don't really want to set up any features on the website to have people logging in for messaging or any forum type stuff. Previous owners do register their cars on there though. If you look at the listings, there is a 'Current Owner' field. The ones marked 'No' you can hover over and it will usually display whether they were the original, 2nd, etc. owner, and when they owned it and at what mileage. Not all previous owners give me that info, but it is a way to get some past history of the cars. There aren't many previous owners listed in the UKDM/EDM pages, but there are some cars on the USDM pages that have 3 or so listings (separate listings for each owner). I can always get in touch with them.

Hi there, I don't whether it's worh mentioning or not, but regarding the 2000 DC2 Rx info I recently gave you; the mileage on your databse should be 93,000 KMs and it's currently listed as miles.

I'm sure it makes little to no difference but I thought you might like to know for accuracy's sake.

Cheers.

There were a couple old listings that I put "km" or "kms" after the mileage. All JDM cars are in kilometers. I just removed the kilometer abbreviation. The only mixed market of km's and miles is the USA/Canada market. For those I just leave the number in its native form, and like the rest of the pages that field is named as a general 'mileage'. I wonder if it would be less confusing if I just called that field 'odometer'. What do you think?

That could work, it's just that I noticed some of the KM-recording cars were marked as such and others weren't.

Of course, many (most, I would say) of the JDM cars that are imported to the UK are converted to run in miles, so some of the odo readings will be a mixture if both. In which case, I suppose it's nigh on impossible to accurately keep tabs on it anyway, so perhaps, as you say, just name that the "odometer" column...

..which was basically a long-winded way of agreeing with you silly

I changed the wording so hopefully it will be more easily understood. I left the form the same since I already had added verbiage in there to try and make it less confusing. smile

Type-R or not, that is still a cool car. They are still much more nimble than many cars made in more recent years.
