Guys,

I've just bought a year 2000 S2000. I want to change the Alloys.

What size of rim and tyre combo will work? Ideally, I'd like to go for 18" rims.

Thanks for your help.

P.S. I just sold my Porker and was going to use this as a stop gap, but I'm SO impressed with the little pocket rocket
that I'm going to keep it for years as a summer bit of fun smile

Forget 18s, ruins the ride/handling. For show only. There are a few nice looking 17s if that's your bag.

Wither way, you'll want to sort the geo after upgrading wheels/tyres. This may reveal seized bolts/bushes, not cheap.

Anyway, go to www.s2ki.co.uk for info, everything you need there.

Congratulations on your S2000! Awesome cars. I would stick with standard size wheels personally or maybe go for the wheels from the later model.

I have been running 18" OZ Racing superleggera on my S2000 for a good few years now. I have only done a couple of track days and the car is mostly used for fast road use and IMHO I don't see the ride quality spoiled that much! There is more road noise and it's slightly bumper but you can live with it every day and they make the car look so much better!! If your planning on tracking it I would stick with the 17's and look at the OZ superleggera's there extremely light!! I was told not to sure if it's true but my 18" OZ racing wheels are lighter than the standard 16" wheels and there wider smile

Any recommendations for 17's? Not sure what the best wheel tyre combo would be, and I know sod all about offsets etc...

I'd like to fit some better aftermarket suspension and drop the ride height a tad, but I don't want to ha ve to roll the arches or anything as drastic as that...

Once again guys, thanks for all your advice. I'm such a noob to the S2000. confused

You don't need to know much, you just need to:-
- find out what the current offset is;
- stick close to it (e.g. +- 2 or 3) if you're keeping the same width of wheel (note: wheel, not tyre)
- ...find an online offset calculator if you're going for wider wheels.

Honda unfortunately have a habit of making large-offset wheels, which will limit your choice a bit. s2ki.co.uk is probably your friend here.

Re: suspension - again, go onto s2ki - IIRC Nitrons were finding favour amongst the 'fast road' brigade as an alternative...

You want something like this:

Only joking.

As a reference, these are Work Emotion XD9s, 7.5in wide fronts and 8.5in wide rears with a 42mm offset. I wouldn't go any more aggressive than that but it's personal preferance I suppose.

Here's a picture of mine so you can get an idea how 18" look, I just had them powder coated anthracite grey which blends in with the roof smile

Looks nice but I think with 18's you need to be lower.

Your right!! I would like to lower it slightly with coilovers but am not sure which ones to go for? I also don't want to spoil the handling, not too clued up with modifying these cars but I do remember reading somewhere it can make the handling worse if lowered and it's best to keep it standard?
