I assume its the 4WS version? Manual?

I had one of that year and thought it was great. Look to see what interior it has, the cloth seats last very well, mine had over 140,000 miles and they still looked almost new but the leather does not do so well. Check things like the 4WS system/headlights are working correctly.

Im quite short - 5'8" but found the seat very good for long commutes ie 240 miles however the ride over potholes/speed bumps isn't great (mine was lowered by 40mm though). Gearboxes are pretty good for a positive action and the engine is sweet - it read lines at 6,500 IIRC but will let you go to 7,000 if you really want. Also the manuals are quite rare and it really needs to be one of these if you want to have fun - my father had a pre-facelift in auto which only has 4 gears for comparison.

The steering feel isn't all that good, however turn-in is very good and the 4WS system means it is stable at the limits of grip and breaking late into corners, if you don't mind sacrificing comfort you can really sharpen the responses up by using a slightly lower profile tyre or better dampers given that the existing one at this age may be due for replacement.

Regretted getting rid of mine, but needed new exhaust and developed rust on the rear arches that was not that visible from the outside but still quite severe (you will need to check this on a 20Y/O car).
