Garage for re-bush?
Discussion
Alright guys
Looking to get my DC2 poly bushed over the summer but at a decent price.
Does anyone know of any decent garages in surrey/ hants/ the southeast to do the work for me but wont charge the earth?
I'v had a few quotes from the usuall suspects and I just cant afford to be shelling out around a grand to get it done
Any decent local garages off the beaten track I can trust etc..?
Any help appreciated

Don't use poly-bushes, they'll compromise the handling!
Honda (esp. on the Type-Rs) used different grades of hardness of rubber in different places to 'tune' the handling of the car. In addition, normal rubber is more compliant than poly-bushes. So you'll end up 'stiffening' the secondary ride and removing some of the lateral compliance from the handling. This isn't a problem if the car is a track-slag, but it won't help if the car is mainly for road use.
I'd suggest going for OE bushes, or possibly Mugen bushes (££) if you want to make the car 'more precise'.
I'd also suggest you don't need to do all the bushes all at once - some don't wear very quickly, while others (RTA in particular) are probably nearly dead on all DC2s by now.
Two questions:-
- How 'stock' is your teg currently?
- How many miles are on it?

Yours is the same colour as mine right? I'm hoping that the indent/strake that runs about a foot above the sill will help with the blending in. As said, TGM seem to get good reviews doing this specific job (and not massively expensive) so mine will probably end up there - 180 miles away but I reckon worth it for knowing the cars.
Can't help too much suggesting a place to use sorry but with Havoc saying about polybushes making handling a compromise also check out "HardRace" items too!

Alright, cheers for the replies guys
Yeah, TGM i'v spoken to already as well as most og the other big names.
Not going to get into the ins and outs of poly vs OEM on here but I'm going for a full Hardrace kit bar the RTA bushes which i'v already renewed with OEM.
The search continues. Might just buy a press....
