Unless you are a trained carpet fitter with 20 years experience get them to fit the carpets.
I did my fk8 and made a right arse of it.
You may be right lolI did my fk8 and made a right arse of it.
It's a bit fiddly for me , and I have done lots of them.
But if you paid full price when ordering the car as opposed to buying after, fitting is included in the price

It’s listed 0.3hrs work to fit! It's a bit fiddly for me , and I have done lots of them.

I’ve been told it will be a ‘small charge’.
I’m assuming you have to put the studs in ready for mat.
I’ll follow all your advice and let them do it as I f**k everything up like that!
I could maybe haggle with them as I’m washing the car not them, so maybe that would offset the 0.3hrs labour?

Thanks for that info.
Reassuring there are guide marks but I’ll probably let them do it.
I’ve scrounged a discount for the boot liner, elegance mats and all seasons mats.
Holcroft Honda are offering accessories on eBay at a discount so asked my dealer to see if they could match which they have.
I think rather than £200, I’m paying £153.
Maybe they’re getting discount back with a fitting charge.

I think it is slightly dependant on how many miles you intend to do wether ppf is worth it or not. i t is expensive. and I have seen some awful jobs done..
I have another car to use daily , so I am not going to do it,
I am going to ceramic coat it as I work at a dealership ( so free).
In fact I am going to valet it myself, as there is no point in ceramic coating over paint swirles,. then ceramic coat it myself..
I hope this helps

I had mine done yesterday before I took it.Are you going to do glass, wheels and callipers too?
One of the valeters who used to work at our place, now works at bmw. did it for me
I nearly st myself when he started with the polish machine..But the difference to the colour and feel of the paint is remarkable.
He spent hours polishing not a single paint swirl in sight. And the shine is unreal.
We used g3 ceramic coating that is the easy bit took less than half an hour.the paint is like glass. It looks so different to what it did from the factory.
So the take away is, it's the prep that counts.
We did everything with ceramic body. wheels, lights etc, but not window glass.
If you are struggling to find anybody to do it, my man Ben could do it for you.

Mines arrived at dealer, won’t look much different on collection day as leaving all the plastic wrappings on. It’s going straight for ceramic and PPF, so drive away collection 25th March. Happy days.
Poor photo as captured off a video sent to me by dealer.
Hi Matt, congrats on your car, same colour as mine.Poor photo as captured off a video sent to me by dealer.
Be prepared for how good it looks when machine polished and ceramic coated.

Thanks for that. I need to make a decision on what I’m going to do. I’ve never been so indecisive before

Congratulations on your car. Love that colour. Poor photo as captured off a video sent to me by dealer.
Thanks. Not a small increase on what's already not cheap.
Next allocations, if happens soon, does it mean delivery gonna be Q3 at least?

Well mine in Championship White arrives in March so I’m very happy!
I’ve only seen this price increase mentioned here. This will further stir up the discussion re this car being too expensive!!!
I have been worried about the price and was expecting around £40k.
There are many great cars available for around £47/49k, however many will be well used, out of warranty or new but with relatively steep depreciation.
If the FL5 retains its value well then hopefully there may be very little cost at all.
Hi Harry, glad you got one, my choices were blue or white, I got blue.I’ve only seen this price increase mentioned here. This will further stir up the discussion re this car being too expensive!!!

I had been looking at second hand Caymans 981 s and gts,. good gts are around the same money or more on a 15 plate. Then on top it is going to cost a fortune to own and run.( I had a 911 something always needed doing and it was always expensive)
Get the 5 yrs service plan £695 if you did not add it when you ordered your car. Even if you sell your car you will get more money for it.
Do not worry about the price you paid for the Type r, it will be worth more the day you pick it up. And if you keep hold of it until production stops, 2 to 3 yrs and keep the mileage reasonable , it will still be worth what you paid for it.
Production number for the Uk are going to be very low for this car,
The price increase comes onto effect on April 8th, so if people have not got a March car it is going up 2k more.
Still not a horrible deal when you consider they are selling on autotrader for 54 to 57k. 57k is a bit rich , but I know a blue one sold for 55k and one of the white ones has gone now ,that was advertised for 56k. and yours will be a 23 plate not the older 72 plate lol.
Just Today a Honda dealer has advertised one for £54995 on autotrader.
So do not worry about anything but enjoying your new car. You have made the right choice.

Well it's not the only way, but clearly manufacturers have cottoned on to the fact that it is a viable way to sell cars as there will always be sufficient enough numbers of idiots to pay the inflated prices.
Have to agree in fairness. The price people are paying for a new car (or any car at the moment) is absurd. We have created a culture of ‘I want one now’. You can’t blame manufacturers from praying on the weak minded.Gassing Station | Honda | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
