The more miles the better in my book. We all have different circumstances, but the enjoyment of driving the thing far outweighs a little depreciation for me.

Not applicable to anyone on this thread as we’ve only just got them, but cars with big miles and stories behind them are far more interesting than a garage queen.

beer

Mine will be used for occasional family duties. Surprised how much room there is even with the baby seat in.

Really?? What make you say that?
One dealer has had three cancelled orders hmm. Blue one from that dealer up at £56995. Said it had already been registered on the persons name. My money is it’s a friend / family member. Stinks of st if you ask me.

That's abnormal. Someone need some conflict of interest training.

Joke aside doubt there are real takers at 2K+ premiums..

Wonder if Honda will release another batch? All to do with group emissions isn’t it. Shame if not.

I would be surprised if there is anymore than 3 allocations this year.

Best advice would be to contact your best Honda dealer and ring round as you may have to travel.

Last I heard was that all Civic models not just Type R are extremely difficult to order from factory currently.

If you want one you may need to do a bit of digging around or see if any sensible deal can be struck on cars listed.

Remember next batch from Honda will have a price rise attached to it.

Good luck in your search … trust me it’s worth the effort

I’m next on the list at my local dealer. As in I was number three on the list. Paid the deposit but like many it was refunded. If it happens it happens. I’m not fussed. To be honest, just now I’m just fed up with cars. Never thought id say it but think it’s time for a break. I’ve got a small shed to get back and forth to work and the family car is sorted so I’ll just wait to the end of this year.

Does look the business in blue! Any updates from owners on fuel tank capacity? I've done nearly 2000 miles now in mine filled it up 10 times and the most I've got into the tank is 39.25 litres and that was running it 10 miles after the range dropped to zero!

Absolutely love it though - great to drive and the most comfortable seats I've ever had, so if a motorbike sized tank* is the only issue then so be it.

[Not an exaggeration , Dakar style BMW's have 38 or 41 litre tanks!]

The tank is either smaller than the spec claims (47L), or the gauge is extremely pessimistic. I tried to get an answer from my service manager who couldn’t find out. They even went to the extent of trying to order a replacement fuel tank to see what it stated but no info so far as they could get with it. Annoying, for sure.

Also, has anyone used one on track and had the amber brake warning light which according to the manual is an electronic handbrake issue (however when I took it to Honda they said it was actually a brake pad excessive temperature earning)?

I’m on track Tuesday, will keep and eye out. Does the warning light go away once things have cooled down?

It does go out again but Honda found the code. I checked with my cheapo OBD reader which didn't show anything...... Before anyone asks, I don't park it up with the handbrake on etc and do cool down laps.

Tremendous car on road and track. 18' wheels improve it I think, which seems to be the general consensus from Japan/US. PS4S tyres are not really up to serious track work and will go off even managing pressures unless it's a fully wet day.

Two things I'd like to try and change about it (in addition to a Miiltek exhaust) are: a) fake engine noise - yes, you can tone that down in individual mode but if you select Type R mode you can't, which leads me on to b) not being able to fully disable the stability control unless in Type R mode which means on track you end up having to have the artificially stiff steering, you have to have the hardest suspension setting whatever the conditions and you have to have that ridiculous fake and loud engine noise through the speakers.

All that being said, the FWD GT3 analogies are not, in my opinion, just crazy fantasist stuff. It really is a driver's car of a kind that has not been seen for some time.

It would be good to get a proper UK owner's group going for these beasts.

+1 for owners group. I'm at Cadwell on the 24th (March one was cancelled with snow) , will watch for the warning light , I'm hoping the traction is 3 position i.e. fully on , sports , fully off , as I have had good results with other cars on the mid point , the rear brakes aren't getting overloaded but you have a safety net. So individual with traction off is the mid point? +R with traction off is full off.

When I got it I set individual to everything +R apart from dampers and rev matching , but have recently been trying the steering in comfort and its a better experience the feel is still all there but as you say no artificial heaviness - we've been conditioned from poor cars to associate light steering with no feel and vagueness around the centre.

Any reports on the LogR app on track? I've tested it briefly and it worked but for me but the setup part (setting a new start point) and upload of logs would only work if I put used my phone as a wifi hotspot i.e. bluetooth and android auto had to be off. I think this is due to Honda UK not enabling the Honda connect service which would use the car's own data connection and then that service would always be available as would updates etc.

Thanks for the feedback, I’ll keep an eye out tomorrow. I won’t be working it hard at Goodwood so I don’t expect the light to make an appearance.

I’m keen to move to 18s, just for a bit more rubber on the road. I don’t expect the current setup to last long on U.K. roads - they’re in a dire state. Keen to get the OEM look, I think the standard wheels came from BBS.

I’ve not had a play but I think there’s a paddle dance for totally removing stability control, I’m guessing you still need to be in R mode. I’ll have a play between individual and R tomorrow.

I don’t mind the subdued sound, but I’m not a fan of a the piped in audio - I’ve currently set the individual sound to Sport, I could be wrong but I think it’s just the natural exhaust and engine notes.

I’m interested to feel sport and R suspension on track, it’s been in comfort the whole time on the road. I’ve had the steering in Sport and think it will stay there, R was too weighted.
